How do you snap out of the mully grubs, my busy friend?  You know –>  those days that get you “spun up” quickly due to messed-up plans and fatigue?!.  If we’re honest, fear of the future or plain old hormones can take a somewhat promising day and turn it into a grumpy one for us.  Am I alone here?!  When we’re on our last nerve and our day is falling apart, the hubs is the one to get hit with our bad attitudes – even when he’s just an innocent bystander.  What’s a Wifey to do to snap out of the funk?  How about some encouraging words …..

HER AWESOME encouraging words to snap busy Wives & Moms out of the "funk" & bad attitudes!

We may realize a truth but sometimes encouraging words from others (even a stranger) can snap you out of your funk.  I thought I’d share with you a little hope and a ray of sunshine to remind you (and me!) what we forget in the midst of the chaos …..

Encouraging words

Instruction, rebuke, AND encouraging words are all found in the Bible.  Sometimes we simply forget about the precious guidebook that can be like salve on a troubled heart.

All scripture is inspired by God.  Profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and training in righteousness.  So the (wo)man may be complete, equipped for every good work.  2 Timothy 3:16-17

Be still and know that I am God. Psalm 46:10

All things work together for good to them that love God. Romans 8:28

Encouraging words for marriage

Not only is God the creator of our marriages, He wants them to thrive.

A man that finds a wife finds what is good, and she is a blessing to him from the Lord. Proverbs 18:22

Charm can be deceptive and beauty fades, but a woman who fears the Lord shall be greatly praised. Proverbs 31:30

A good Wife of noble character is her husband’s joy and crown … Proverbs 12:4

Encouraging words for disappointment

I’m sure, like me, you’ve lived long enough to be thankful to God for unanswered prayers!  God didn’t give you what you wanted but blessed you ten-fold with what you really needed instead. Amen?

How great is our God – beyond our understanding!  His years cannot be counted. Job 36:26

For my thoughts are not your thoughts, nor are your ways my ways, declares the Lord. Isaiah 55:8

The mind of a man plans his way, but the Lord directs his steps. Proverbs 16:9

Encouraging words for anxiety

I forget that God knows the beginning, middle, and end of my story and all I can see is the right now.  Focus on what God has done for you and cling to His promises for your future too, friend.

Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight. Proverbs 3:3-5

Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.  And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:6-7

Cast your cares on the LORD and he will sustain you; he will never let the righteous be shaken. Psalm 55:22

Encouraging words for others

When we get the focus off of our own problems and throw ourselves into helping others, it makes our bad situations less intense.
Carry each other’s burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ. Galatians 6:2

And do not forget to do good and to share with others, for with such sacrifices God is pleased. Hebrews 13:16

… not looking to your own interests but each of you to the interests of the others. Philippians 2:4

Do not withhold good from those to whom it is due, when it is in your power to act. Proverbs 3:27

We all need encouraging words.  God’s word is essential but so is the act of hearing them from our sisters in Christ.  Words are powerful and can pull us right up out of that miry clay of bad attitude and pity parties.  Recently my daughter came home and told me that a lady at church was going on about how I was the sweetest person she has ever met in her life.

HUH???

I can’t tell you how much those words meant to me since my heart and focus is encouraging others always.  It’s amazing how that one sentence has lifted me up over the last few days when I get the mully grubs and feel that I’m unimportant.  Words. are. so. powerful.

I hope you’ve been lifted you up today and that you are encouraged to pass this on and choose to use your own encouraging words to lift up other sistahs.

I don’t get rattled by that, but by the long hard road with no end.

Awesome list of scriptures for those days when life just seems too hard. Having quiet time with God in the morning helps me to make sure at least I start the day off on the right foot. But having these scriptures to call upon throughout the day will definitely help as well.

Oh, Shan what a lovely post. I a big fan of quotes and inspiration to lift one out of a funky mood. I used to be the mom who got super angry if my plans were interrupted. I’m also an all or nothing kind of gal. (am better, promise) Which made me not a pleasant person to be around.

It was the extreme Godly patience of my husband that finally broke through to me.

These are all verses that have helped me in so many ways. I think it was Paul who said to “Encourage one another daily…”

    It’s something our spirits desire.

And, words like your daughter overheard need to be spoken out loud and not kept to ourselves. Not sure why we aren’t liberal with kind words but seem to be overflowing with unkind. ^_^

    Enjoy your evening.
