Best apples for apple pie
I believe that the best apples for apple pie are the ones that you love to eat the most. I’m a traditional girl though and I’ve always enjoyed the taste of the Granny Smith apples in our apple pies.
You feel free to experiment with whatever flavor you want, but you can’t go wrong with a bright green Granny Smith.

Apple Pie Recipe & To-Dos
Let’s move on to what we can do today (Wednesday) to lose the overwhelm and enjoy Thanksgiving Day even more. It’s Day #3 of Thanksgiving week of our Thanksgiving series. Monday and Tuesday’s To-Dos had us making sure certain foods were in the refrigerator and cleaning up the most chaotic rooms in the house. After that nostalgic pie, there can be classic board games and outdoor game supplies for family time after the big Thanksgiving meal.
Today is about putting the finishing touches on the house (straightening and decorating) and making those pies! I’ve given you this apple pie recipe but my pecan pie and EASY cheesecake recipe are on the way as well. I’ll also be washing and chopping anything that can be done ahead of time. Woot!
Remember, no matter what, we aren’t going to stress about Thanksgiving! I pray that you can truly enjoy the holidays with the ones you love and give perfectionism the boot like I’m doing.

I just adore apple pie. I like to have a mix of apples in mine, leaning more towards Jonathon, Gala and Paula Red as those are the best local apples available here in my area. I love that we have a Pick Your Own orchard in our area, and I buy a lot when in season and then even can apple pie filling for later in the year.
Thank you so much for your recipe.
