Beautiful Skin? Every Woman Needs These Hacks In Her Life!

Beautiful Skin is Simple

As a stylist, I’ve helped wives look their best with the easiest hacks, and every single woman wants beautiful skin but doesn’t know how to get it.  1) there are so many advertised products on TV so they must be the best, and 2) we have to fly to Hollywood and sell a kidney to find the beautiful skin secrets of the stars.  These are big fat lies!  I’m spilling the beans on the keys to beautiful skin, and it’s easy and affordable, friend …..

Let’s get to it, shall we?!

Beautiful Skin Hacks

As you will see below, four of these hacks are completed daily and you only have to exfoliate once a week.  Easy Peasy!  These tips are quick and easy but will make such a tremendous difference in your quest for beautiful skin.

Cleanse that face only at night

The key is to keep it simple.  Each night use a cleanser that matches your skin type (answer 5 questions to know which type you have) and stick with it.  It doesn’t have to be expensive.  I’m partial to this face wash and these cleaning wipes for combo, oily, and dry-skin girls.  Find one that works for you and stick with it.  When I’m in a hurry or traveling, these cleanser wipes are my fave.

Neutrogena Naturals Cleanser Wipes

Exfoliate once a week

We all have skin cells that die and have new ones that are deep within the layers of our face just begging to be seen.  When we don’t “scrub” the top layer of skin out of the way, the fresh, new skin can’t show!  This is not a harsh, complicated process but also helps shrink pores and make skin smoother and younger looking.  My favorites are my homemade sugar scrub or Mary Kay’s microdermabrasion.  This is only ONCE a week and right after cleansing and before toning.

Tone & Freshen up that skin every morning

Are there exercises to firm up skin?  No, the toning up I’m speaking of is tightening the skin while removing any leftover residue on the face, and shrinking those pores by removing any clogged dirt or acne.  Since you aren’t cleansing your face in the morning, pour a little toner/freshener on a cotton ball and rub all over the face.  My fave is good ole witch hazel.

Moisturize that face every morning

If you have a dry skin type, you can moisturize before bed also.  All skin types must moisturize their skin – even oily-skin girls (yours will just be lighter).  If oily skin is not moisturized, it will overcompensate and produce more oil naturally and you’ll have the greasy look.  My favorite is what I shared as my anti wrinkle eye cream.  I simply use the coconut oil shown above as an all over moisturizer.

Protect that skin

Whether you quickly dust a little pressed powder on your face from your super-cheap compact or swirl your kabuki brush in a circular motion and apply your mineral powder, a tiny bit of powder will help protect your skin from aging, toxins, and dirt clogging your pores.  It only takes seconds, y’all.  (Here’s a how to apply makeup in 3 minutes).

Let’s recap.

Each morning you simply tone, moisturize and protect.  Each night you simply cleanse, tone, and moisturize.  Once a week you will just add in the exfoliating step in between your cleansing and toning. That’s it!  Simple, huh?  No Hollywood secrets or overly expensive products.

Bonus Points for Beautiful Skin

These five skincare hacks will certainly have you on the road to more refreshed, glowing skin.  Struggle with skin issues and want to do as much as possible to get that beautiful skin you’ve always wanted?  These tips will help as well and certainly won’t hurt:

  • Drink lots of water daily (adding lemon or lime is great)
  • Eat your share of colorful, fresh fruits & veggies
  • Always wash off your makeup
  • Take yo’ multivitamins
  • Be gentle with your facial skin (it’s the only one you’ll get!)

Excellent tips! I started washing my face only at night this past year; in the morning, I just “wash” my face with warm water and do my morning skin routine. Looking forward to checking out and making my own scrub!

I hear ya, Jasmine. It’s easy to be lazy about it. I have to MAKE myself do it all the time. It pays off though.

Oh wow! Once a day? I am a faithful morning and night kind of girl. I do cleans with a gentle moisturizing cleanser in the morning called Cetaphil. And my nightly wash is a Netragena gentle daily exfoliate. I do use Coconut Oil to remove my makeup. Thanks for sharing!

I used to use toner a long time ago, stopped for some reason, and picked up using toner again. I do think that using toner should be a part of your routine. It makes a difference and helps to get off more dirt and oils.

I am such a slacker in the skin care department. I needs to put these hacks to use!

Thanks. I just has major surgery (third surgery in two yrs and one more to go) so I hven’t been doing any skin care, but great ideas. Thanks.

I love the idea of making your own exfoliating scrub. I’ve had acne-prone skin all my life and have done 3 rounds of Accutane in my teens and twenties. I still struggled with the occasional breakout in my late 30s and I just figured out what works well for me – washing my face less and using no products … and it’s never looked better. I’m thinking an exfoliater once a week would probably be a good idea!

  15. November 15, 2016 / 10:25 am

I try to remove my makeup every night using a blend of olive oil, water, and baby shampoo (a couple drops in the bottle), and that has worked wonderfully! Super cheap too. But I’ve failed to do a face scrub because I thought that required buying an expensive tool. Thanks for the tip about using a sugar scrub… I have one in my drawer right now and will try it!

I like the ideas for exfoliating. Love me some coconut oil!

Eek…if I only wash my face once a day my skin gets congested and breaks out like crazy. Tried and true. I totally agree with the other tips, though! 🙂 Looking forward to following along with your posts here!

  20. November 16, 2016 / 9:25 am
