Buying the right groceries to eat healthier
Hello, wife friends! I sure am tickled that I am able to encourage so many of you – I love your messages and emails! Today I’ll be grocery shopping to eat healthier and I’m taking you with me. Did you catch Healthier Wife Day #1 and Day 2? Read those for sure. (New here? Read this too).
We’ve got to learn how to deal with what we may feel are interruptions to our healthy plan … birthday parties, folks bringing sweets to work, nachos at concession stands (remember the cheesy fries yesterday?). The truth is that we (I!) need to think ahead just a little to continue to eat healthier even when life throws us curve balls.
We need to be very focused at the grocery store so we’ll have plenty of healthy meals and snacks to be lifesavers when we need them! Watch the vlog below as we head to the store and then you can see what I’m eating for lunch!
Groceries to eat healthier
Here’s a breakdown of my eating and vitamins for the day:
Before Breakfast
I took my probiotics and enjoyed my warm mug o’ Spark this morning first thing. LOVE it!
Breakfast
After waiting thirty minutes, I drank my fiber. Remember yesterday when I mentioned how I having to choke it down because I got the thickest one? I used very cold water and it made all the difference in the world. I followed it with a glass of water and then drank my chocolate mocha shake.
Mid-Morning Snack
A couple hours after my shake, I ate an apple and had a few unsalted peanuts.
Lunch
I spoke in the video about the yummy taco soup recipe that I made for dinner but ended up making a meal for it for lunch. Minus the chips, cheese, and sour cream.
Mid-afternoon Snack
A large handful of almonds was my quick snack.
Dinner
Of course, I had taco soup again and it was even better the second time!
Water
Eh, I didn’t drink enough water but I’ll try again tomorrow.
Before Bed
I’m going to take my nighttime vitamin now.
I hope this was helpful to you. See you tomorrow!

We are trying to eat healthier as well, we have trimmed the amount of healthy fats (like avocado and cheese or almonds) that we eat. We eat protein at every meal and have increased the amount of fruits and veggies we eat daily too. It sure can be expensive but I would rather pay more for veggies than for pills hands down any day!
Sounds pretty healthy! I need to work on drinking more water too.
This is so helpful. My family is trying hard to eat healthier and I have found it to be a little more expensive but it so much better for us. Thank you for the share.
This is helpful! We’re always looking to change up our meals! Thank you so much for sharing.

I have a hard time drinking water too! I find myself saying the “try again tomorrow” thing more than I probably should. 🙂 Your fridge looks so healthy! I always love a healthy looking fridge to inspire me throughout the week!
