OK Hon’, we’ve reached our 4th and final week of the Fit & Fab Fall Challenge.  If you didn’t follow along real-time, no biggie, you can just go through the Challenge at your own pace.  Let’s recap what we’ve done so far:

In Week #1, we chose to add water, and fresh fruits and veggies to our daily routine.

Week #2 had us learning about essential good Carbs and adding them to our daily diet while continuing with Week 1 lessons.

And Week #3 taught us about lean proteins and how to work them into our daily diet as well as Week 1 & 2 lessons continuing.

If you haven’t guessed, the main goal has been to slowly get you in the habit of adding whole foods into your daily eating routine.  It really isn’t that hard and if you continue to add these wholesome nutrients day in and day out, not only will you be healthier but you will be less inclined to reach for the unhealthy foods that may typically sabotage your health goals.

If you’ve followed the Fit & Fab Fall Challenge to a T, here are all the wonderful whole foods you should be consuming:

  • Breakfast:  we haven’t discussed
  • Mid-Morning Snack: Fresh Fruit with glass of water
  • Lunch:  Veggies & Lean Protein with glass of water
  • Mid-Afternoon Snack: Fresh Fruit with glass of water
  • Dinner:  Veggies, Complex Carb, & Lean Protein & water

Way to go, just look at all that great nutrition you are pouring into your body!

As you may have guessed, this week’s Food Challenge is to consume breakfast that includes protein and fiber.

Here are 7 ideas for the best breakfast foods:

  1. Oatmeal with the optional nuts and fruit
  2. Greek yogurt with the optional nuts and fruit
  3. Eggs anyway you like with the optional omelet full of veggies
  4. An apple with peanut or almond butter
  5. Cereal with at least 5 grams of fiber and less than 5 grams of sugar with optional flaxseed and fruit sprinkled on
  6. Whole Wheat bread with peanut or almond butter or egg & cheese
  7. My very favorite breakfast honestly, is hailed as having the perfect amount of protein and good carbs ~ our Protein shakes

Do you have a hard time finishing things, sticking with stuff til the end?

Man, oh man, I can start a project with fervor, only to lose heart when boredom sets in {or when I get distracted}.

I don’t think I’m the only one since many women struggle with the very same thing every year with New Year’s resolutions.

This time there is a difference because I’ve faced the fact that God cares about how I take care of the one and only body he gave only to me.

Your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit within you…you are not your own, for you were bought with a price. So glorify God with your body.

Our Faith Challenge this week is to memorize and meditate on 1 Corinthians 6:19-20.

May we think of this verse each time we start a new day to glorify God in treat this amazingly intricate bodies He gave us.  Will will fill them with nutrition so they will work properly and exercise them so they will last as long as He intended?

He cares and will help us if we only ask.

As you have probably guessed, this week’s Fitness Challenge will have us spending four hours getting our bodies on the move.  Spread out the time and get out in this gorgeous weather before it turns too cold and bothersome.

Don’t stress and make a big deal of it.  Just get outside, play with the kids or take a hike to really take notice of God’s glorious creation.
