I know, I know, when you hear the word Salmon, you either think “YUM” or “YUCK.”

I kept reading that Salmon was so very good for you but I just couldn’t get over the way it looked and especially, the way it tasted. I finally figured out the secret of How to make salmon taste wonderful and I want to share it with you.

Fast forward to our 24 Day Trim Challenge where we were told to eat lean proteins every day for lunch and dinner.  {very successful for us btw}. Salmon was on the list and I decided to try again with a little secret tool, but we’ll get to that in a minute.  First let’s talk about where we’ve been and where we are going.

In week #1 of the Fit & Fab Fall Challenge, our family drank lots of water and added fresh fruits and veggies twice a day.

Week #2 had us consuming a complex carb at least once a day while continuing with the healthy habits of Week #1.

How has your family done in working in these healthy habits into your daily routine?  {BTW, you can start at any time}.

The Challenge for week #3 is to eat one lean protein at lunch and dinner every day this week while keeping healthy habits from week 1 & 2.

Healthy Lean Proteins List

Chicken Breast

Game {Bison, Buffalo, Elk, Deer}

Ground Meat

Tilapia, Red Snapper, Cod, Salmon

Tuna Fish

Don’t get caught up in worrying about how to cook your meats this week.  Just try to cook them as cleanly as possible by not frying, coating, breading, or “cheesing” it up.  Cook with olive oil, coconut oil, real unsalted butter, or the secret ingredient I hinted about.

Here’s a video showing you how I use this secret tool, Bragg Liquid Aminos, All Purpose Seasoning, data-imagelightbox="g"> to make Salmon taste amazing but I challenge you to try it with other lean proteins as well.

This week’s Faith Challenge is to memorize and meditate on Colossians 3:17 which is one of my favorites.

And whatever you do, in word or deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.  Colossians 3:17

Did you notice where it says, “in some things except what goes in your mouth and the way you feel about your body… in the name of the Lord?”

No, it doesn’t say that, it says everything!

We really should go at everything with a fervor to do our best, to the glory of God.

That verse says everything so that means we should give everything we’ve got in every area in our lives, like how we take care of our bodies.

We shouldn’t push that over to the side and pretend that God doesn’t care how we treat our bodies-being a glutton one moment-dieting the next.

Oh yeah, I can write the book on acting that way and pretending God wouldn’t notice.  I knew better and I’m still fighting to undo some of the damage I’ve caused.

How about you?

Today is a new day and I’ve got news for you…

He. Cares.

I hope you are moving at least a little bit each week, and hey, each day.

It’s how God designed our bodies…to move and work and play.

How can you get three good hours in this week while moving, and working, and playing?

Yep you guessed it, this week’s Fitness Challenge is to get moving for three hours in whatever increments you choose.  Please don’t try to exercise for three hours straight. 😉

Why don’t you “work-out” for one hour, then “work” some manual labor for an hour, and then “play” with your kids for an hour this week.

K?  K!  It’s a deal.

Let me hear from you and share your plans for Week #3.
