East Coast Road Trip

Ready?  Let’s Go!

First stop – Tybee Island Georgia.

We love the family bonds, adventure, and affordability that camping brings-missing Captain on our family vaca as he’s slaving away at college and work, many miles away.  Life’s craziness has kept us all from camping lately so being thankful that at least three of us could finallyyy pull out of our driveway for a trip is a huge understatement.

We’d been invited for a stay at Tybee Island’s only camping spot, River’s End Campground, and we jumped at the chance.  I’d been hearing a lot of positive chatter about this Georgia Sea Island and campground on travel forums and can’t wait to see what all the chatter is about.

As you can see from the video, River’s End Campground is a gorgeous, super-clean, kid-friendly, and dog-friendly place to relax and enjoy the scenery.   We loved how the sites were among natural elements and mostly shaded by trees.  I was elated to find out how we could walk to so many things close to the campground.

Wins for East Coast Road Trip to River’s End Campground

  • The super friendly staff at River’s End Campground
  • Super clean property
  • Family Friendly
  • Most sites are shaded by trees
  • Gravel Sites instead of dirt
  • Super quick free Wi-fi
  • Nice Laundromat
  • Great Swimming Pool
  • Close to the beach
  • Close to the lighthouse
  • Close to historical sites {nearby Battery we’ll visit tomorrow}
  • 15 minutes from Savannah Georgia
  • One of the best Campground Stores I’ve ever seen

What’s good to know is that there definitely are plenty of sites that are more off-the-path and tucked back a bit.   I would prefer to be in one of those instead of the one in the center of the campground where we were but I never mentioned that when booking our site so it wasn’t their fault.  Use my photography and videography along with the River’s End map to pick the ideal spot for future visits.

Be sure to check the River’s End site for current rates.  I do know that the rates include your children {no extra kid tax}, free wifi, a self-service Laundry room, large swimming pool, free covered pavilion, grills, picnic tables, a vending room open 24 hours, and a climate-controlled restroom & bathhouse.  Restrooms are open 24 hours.  The Gift Store/General Store is very nice and so are the two dog parks next door to the campground.

We live in Cumming, GA and I’ve thought about going to Tybee Island. It looks like a really nice place to go. I can’t wait to see Day 2. I’ll look for it. See you at R&R Party! Pinned.
